Denise Wingate is the founder and CEO of Wingate Media, Inc., a full service video production company that
specializes in the production of educational materials, and a founding partner of MediaMinds, LLC., located at www.mediamindstv.com. Denise
brings extensive experience in the development
and production of high quality
training materials and
educational programming. She came to producing through
public broadcasting. As an
education project
manager for Georgia Public Broadcasting (GPB), she oversaw
projects for both children
and adult learners.
Wingate continues to work directly with educators on many of her
productions for learners
of all ages.
Denise has a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Georgia and a Master’s degree from Georgia Tech.
She has worked in the not-for-profit, corporate and government arenas and therefore is familiar with a variety
of business cultures.
The firm has extensive experience in production of educational programming for adults and children, including
research and script development and all aspects of production of materials. Denise partners with Ritch Vogan,
the first director of Turner Evening News (now CNN), and together they utilize the latest production equipment,
including being one of the first production companies in the Southeast to invest in high-definition equipment
and software. The firm has full service production capabilities, including high-definition and web-based video
streaming and provides clients with the highest level of expertise in every aspect of the production process.
From researching and scriptwriting to utilizing the newest equipment and software, the firm is committed
to providing clients with the best and most up-to-date service at a fair and reasonable cost.
The firm’s clients have ranged from the largest corporations to the smallest not-for-profits. They have worked
for both the public and private sectors and, at some point, produced virtually every type of program. Experience
ranges from extreme sports and cooking shows to educational documentaries and corporate training videos.

Educational Programming

American History through Southern Eyes, 2005-2006 – Producer and scriptwriter for a series of six,
30-minute documentaries for Georgia Public Broadcasting. Through interviews, reenactments, artwork
and historical artifacts and photographs, the series highlights American History from a southern
perspective including the American Revolution, cotton farming, the Civil War, modernization, early
civil rights efforts and World War I. The program aired on the statewide GPB Education network
and Georgia Public Broadcasting.
- Instrumental Achievement, 2005 – Producer for a program sponsored by Georgia Public Broadcasting
and the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra giving tips to middle and high school music students. Program airs regularly on the statewide GPB Education network.
- Model Citizen, 2003 – Producer, talent and scriptwriter for this anti-smoking video for middle school
children featuring a former Winston cigarette model.
- SmARTistic, 2001 – Project Manager and Associate Producer for this project for the Georgia Council
for the Arts and Georgia Public Broadcasting teaching middle school children and their teachers how
to use art in the teaching of core curriculum lessons. Program aired regularly on the statewide GPB
Education network.
Professional Education:
- A Conversation: Educational Excellence, 2005 – Producer for a live two hour broadcast on Georgia
Public Broadcasting featuring Georgia’s Governor Sonny Perdue and State Superintendent of Schools
Kathy Cox. Program aired live on GPB television across the state of Georgia.
- Reading First, 2004 – Producer for a series of nine training programs for elementary teachers on
reading instruction. Program was taped for use in Georgia Department of Education training seminars.
- Institute for Continuing Legal Education, 2000-2005 – Producer for an instructional series of nine to ten
programs annually to update attorneys on the latest developments in the legal profession. Programs aired
on the statewide GPB Education network.
- Institute for Media Specialists, 2003-2004 – Producer for series of twenty programs broadcasted via
the Internet to media specialists around the state demonstrating best practices in their field.
Promotional & Industrial Programming
- Life Counts, 2006 – Producer and scriptwriter for this promotional video for the Georgia Cancer Coalition
and the BellSouth Corporation. Documentary-style program highlights the benefits of participate in the Life
Counts cancer education program for area corporate leaders. Program will be a “leave behind” for the
Cancer Coalition.
- BellSouth Supply Chain Services, 2005 – Producer, director and scriptwriter for a 15-minute video
highlighting the work of the Supply Chain Services division of the BellSouth Corporation. Program
used for internal BellSouth training.
- Emmaus House Promotional Video, 2004 – Producer and scriptwriter for a 15-minute documentary-style
program detailing the work of this non-profit organization. Program is used to educate potential donors,
volunteers, and others about the organization’s work.
- Leadership, Vision & Excellence, 2003 – Producer and scriptwriter for a 15-minute video for Kennesaw
State University featuring women leaders from around Georgia. Program is part of a grant application
seeking funding to study the successful habits of the female university presidents in the United States.
